At this caribbean hideaway, romantics, groups, families and other visitors at the peaceful grand view inn in st. george’s, grenada, are just short strolls from beautiful grand anse and morne rouge beaches. the hotel’s staff gladly helps visitors plan scuba-diving, snorkeling, fishing and tour excursions around what many fans say is the caribbean’s most unspoiled island. at the grand view, guests can swim in the outdoor pool, rent cars, use conference rooms and high-speed internet access, enjoy rides to the international airport 10 minutes away, and dine on international cuisine in the pirates cove terrace restaurant. this grenada hotel features 69 air-conditioned guestrooms and eight suites with ceiling fans, cable tvs, coffeemakers, refrigerators, private baths, balconies-and windows that open to let in the caribbean breezes. the inn’s owners want everybody to know that hurricane ivan in 2004 couldn’t score the knockout punch on this hotel as they add new rooms and rebuild the pirates cove restaurant. the companion pirates cove terrace restaurant is handling meals. more than 90 percent of grenada’s infrastructure was damaged by hurricane ivan. while rebuilding is progressing significantly, visitors should expect ongoing reconstruction. the island is returning to normal, and tours and cruise ships are pouring in almost daily.
